Lace Cut Book

I am big fan of Tracy Scott and her work, her mandalas and lace cut pages are my favorite. So when an opportunity to learn from master came up I grabbed it.

I was always scared of fuzzy cutting, cutting with X-Acto was a nightmare,Tracy showed simple and easy techniques  that made it so easy. Soon I was so hooked to it that I decided to make three layered lace cut book. Having a fresh sharp X-Acto really helps in having fine cuts.

I started with bottom most page in shades of green with heat embossed image in the middle . A lot of stamping and stenciling went on this page. The next page was lace cut using Itsybitsy stencil and painted in gorgeous shades of yellow. Doodling was done with various Sakura pens

The second lace cut page was also done using Itsybitsy stencil, it was colored and doodled like the other page. The cover was done using stencil partially and later I drew around the image to make it symmetrical and cut it out.

It was painted in black and 3D paint was used along with red and green rhinestones to highlight the pattern.  The gold paint from Golden was used to define the flower, the paint was piped using Fineliner bottle (2 parts of Deep gold paint with 1 part gloss medium).

Peek into the jungle beyond - Week 10

This week SimonsaysStamp Monday challenge was to "Add some green", I combined that with Gwen Lafleur  "Interactive ATC" workshop to create this gorgeous project. I wanted to recreate an old Indian fort window with lovely outer frame and lattice work shutters  for a long time but was blocked on what to add underneath the shutters. Finally I was able to draw the beautiful jungle using different shades of green Distress Oxide and posca pens. The parrots were printed and collaged (Image Credit - freepik) The doodle stencils from Craftangles and Mudra were used to create the topmost layer and were colored with posca pens. The red arch of the window was stamped with Mudra stamp and colored along with  yellow background using DistressOxide . The lattice work was done using Gel paste and Craftangles stencil. Distress glazes in Fossilized Amber and Tattered Rose were added when the paste was wet. When the paste was dry it was heat embossed and the background ...
