Shades of Heart - Week 4

I am ardent follower of Vicky Papaioannou on youtube.  Her videos are so simple and contain so much detail. In one of the interviews she said how the challenges posted on sites helped her to keep creating and posting.

With this in mind I  decided that I would participate in Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge every week. Hopefully I can keep upwith it. This week topic is Heart.

I created ATC background with shades of green Distress Oxide and Crackling campfire oxide. I intensified the red color at the edges with fired brick Distress Ink. I stamped with green archival ink and stenciled with white gelly roll.

The focal image was made by drawing heart on cardstock and cutting pieces in few places. Each piece of geometrical heart was heat embossed and left out pieces were colored with posca gold and silver pens. A few pieces were heat embossed with distress glaze and given dimension by sticking with foam tape. The Love word was written with gold and black posca pens.

I wanted to recreate an old Indian fort window with lovely outer frame and lattice work shutters  for a long time but was blocked on what to add underneath the shutters. Finally I was able to draw the beautiful jungle using different shades of green Distress Oxide and posca pens. The parrots were printed and collaged (Image Credit - freepik) The doodle stencils from Craftangles and Mudra were used to create the topmost layer and were colored with posca pens. The red arch of the window was stamped with Mudra stamp and colored along with  yellow background using DistressOxide . The lattice work was done using Gel paste and Craftangles stencil. Distress glazes in Fossilized Amber and Tattered Rose were added when the paste was wet. When the paste was dry it was heat embossed and the background ...
